Invisible conditions are illnesses that may not be apparent to others, including conditions such as depression, diabetes, heart disease and COPD.

We also know that people living with long term conditions are accessing health and social care regularly and know a lot about the quality of care. Their feedback on care will help CQC inspectors decide when, where and what to inspect and it could stop poor care happening to someone else.

At CQC, we want to make sure that people living with invisible conditions don’t feel invisible, and to let them know that we value their feedback on the quality and safety of their care. We want to hear their experiences – both good and bad – so that we can ensure health care services are meeting the fundamental standards of care.

The CQC, working closely with partner organisations, have launched a week long campaign focused on gaining a better understanding of the experiences of care of people with invisible long term conditions. From 9 November – 13 November, CQC will be engage with people with invisible conditions on Twitter (@CareQualityComm) asking them to share their experiences of care using the hashtag #InvisibleConditions. We would appreciate your support in raising awareness of how people with invisible conditions can feedback on their care.
