Healthwatch Redbridge (HWR) is a ‘local Healthwatch organisation’. Established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, our role is to act as a local, independent consumer voice for people using health and social care services. Healthwatch Redbridge was established in April 2013.

There are 152 local Healthwatch organisations in England and a national body, Healthwatch England , which provides advice, guidance and a national profile for Local Healthwatch.

In 2013 HWR was created through a transitional arrangement and commissioned by the London Borough of Redbridge to deliver the Healthwatch role and functions in the borough. In doing so we established an independent company limited by guarantee with charitable status, Healthwatch Redbridge.

Healthwatch Redbridge is now looking to build on the proven success of our first 5 years and are currently recruiting for additional board members.

This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in one of Northeast London’s leading ‘patient champions’ for health and care, as we look to increase our capacity and widen our reach to give more adults, young people, children and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided within Redbridge.

If you have experience of health or social care in Redbridge and want to play a leading role in changing your community, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Healthwatch Redbridge represents our diverse community and we would welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
