About this event
Redbridge Transport Action Group, together with Redbridge Disability Consortium, are holding a public meeting to talk about Redbridge Council's proposals to end the Redbridge Mobility Scheme.
The council say that since Taxicard is available, there’s no need to fund both schemes. But the current Taxicard allowance is just one return journey a week. We are concerned about the impact that cutting the Mobility Scheme will have on disabled and older people’s ability to get out and about. This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss our response to the proposed cuts, and tell councillors how the cut could affect us.
If you’re not able to attend, but you nevertheless have views on the proposed closure of Redbridge Mobility Scheme, you can contact Mark Santos, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care.

On the 9th February, there will be a Cabinet Meeting where Redbridge Mobility Scheme will be discussed, with the opportunity to speak, if requested in advance. It would be powerful if Mobility Scheme members were able to attend and speak about how ending the scheme would affect them.
