Humanity Connect

About

Humanity Connect bridges the barriers to successful integration of asylum seekers and refugees. In partnership with Care4calais and Hebron Project.

We bridge the barriers to successful integration by:

  • Providing individual casework, advocating for the rights, benefits, and well-being of asylum seekers and refugees through empowerment, information dissemination, service navigation, and applications.
  • Campaigning to changing the narrative from hostile, to positive, showcasing the determination, resilience and skills of asylum seekers and refugees.
  • Offering volunteering opportunities that showcase service users skills, adds further skills and improves their language acquisition. For example our hairdressing hub whereby talented, qualified asylum seeker hairdressers provide free hair cuts and styling to those unable to afford such services.
  • Training asylum seekers and refugees to advocate for others caught in the system.

Activities:

  • Advocacy casework
  • Campaigning
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Free hairdressing/cuts
  • Monthly art workshops
  • Run ESOL classes
  • Source new and good quality second-hand clothes (underwear, school uniforms, footwear, toys, and books) for a community clothes bank for asylum seekers, refugees, low-income individuals, and the homeless. We are accepting donations of all of the above. Please contact to enquire about making a donation.
  • Collaboration with Healthwatch Redbridge by facilitating drop-in hubs, improving access to healthcare and addressing healthcare-related challenges.
  • Partnership with Catch 22 (REP) providing training and employment support, facilitating the integration of newly resettled refugees into the workforce through the government funded Refugee Integration Fund.
  • Partnership with Cafe Project Hebron, offering a warm and supportive space for socialisation, emotional well-being and pastoral care.
