Havering & Redbridge identified that too many people were being admitted to hospital for entirely preventable causes, resulting in an over reliance on institutional (bed based) services as the default option rather than considering individual needs.
Healthwatch Redbridge (HWR) conducted an E&V visit to Whipps Cross phlebotomy department in response to concerns raised by local residents about the temporary closure of the Phlebotomy service at Wanstead Hospital on 11 July 2016.
The Accessible Information Standard (AIS) is a mandatory and statutory requirement that applies to all providers of NHS and publicly-funded adult social care services and came into force on 31 July 2016 .
