Women's Health Project

Over the last few months, we’ve been actively engaging with women across communities in Redbridge to provide crucial information about Breast and Cervical screening

Through these efforts, we’ve gathered key insights into the challenges and experiences faced by local women in accessing services. The picture we are building helps us to make recommendations to service providers that puts patient experience at the heart of care.

Overview:

  • Many women face barriers when accessing essential health screenings, including information provision, cultural sensitivity, lack of accessible facilities.
  • Misconceptions about cervical screening make women hesitant to attend life saving appointments.
  • Awareness of local services varies, highlighting the need for continued outreach and education.
  • The feedback of local women has been instrumental in shaping the next phase of our project.

Next Phase: Perimenopause and Menopause Focus

In the next stage of our Women’s Health Project, we are turning our attention to perimenopause and menopause—these important stages in women’s health are often underrepresented and under discussed.

We want to better understand the unique experiences of women during these transitions and identify areas where additional support and resources are needed.

Get Involved: Share Your Experience

We are calling on women in the Redbridge area to share their personal experiences with perimenopause and menopause.

It won't take long, and by sharing your story you’ll be helping to shape future services and resources for women in the community.

Outreach

A key component of this project is actively engaging with women across diverse communities in Redbridge. Through dedicated outreach efforts, we provide information and resources, giving women the tools to better understand their health.

Speaking to women in community centres and local organisations we promote the importance of attending screenings such as Breast and Cervical exams, ensuring that more women have access to the knowledge and support they need to make informed decisions about their well-being.
