Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS) 

Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS) provide support to  unpaid carers – carers can be mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, friends, relatives, spouses, partners or neighbours. 

Mission

Our mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Redbridge by providing them with a range of services, support and recognition’.

  • Provide appropriate, relevant, specialist information to carers on an individual or group basis on a range of issues, including access to services, respite and benefits. 
  • Offer breaks and time off from caring through training, social and other activities.
  • Provide advocacy, advice, support and representation.
  • Offer emotional support
  • Reach ‘hidden’ carers (e.g. younger carers, carers from BME communities, marginalised carers) through targeted outreach. 
  • Consult with carers and professionals on a range of issues ensuring carers have a voice to influence services (via events, forums, workshops, focus groups, citizen juries etc.)
  • Encourage & promote carers to participate in planning of carers services.
  • Give carers a voice.

Events

Migrant Community Breakfast Club

The 1st and 3rd Monday of every month, 10 am - 12 pm

RCSS offices located at 12 Clements Court, Clements Lane, Ilford, Essex IG1 2QY

This group is specifically for unpaid carers from Migrant Communities, including Asylum Seekers, Refugees, and EEA Nationals. 

Whether you've recently arrived in the UK or have been living here for years, you are all welcome. If you're an unpaid carer looking after someone with a long-term health condition, mental health issues, a disability, or someone who is elderly or frail, you are invited to join.

The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month are excited to meet you. 

You can practice your conversational English, participate in activities, connect with other carers, share experiences, and access services and activities for your health and wellbeing.
