Whether it is improving them today or helping to shape them for tomorrow, we are all about local voices being able to influence the delivery and design of local services. Not just people who use them, but anyone who might need to in future.
Formed as part of the Health and Social Care Act of 2012 we have the power to visit anywhere that is providing health and social care services as part of the NHS. We call this Enter and View; you can read more about it here.
How much time and commitment would I need to volunteer with Healthwatch Redbridge?
Depending on the role, we would look for volunteers to share 3-4 hours a week. In periods where there is a busy workload, we may ask for more hours that week, but we can be flexible.
How flexible are you in terms of times and dates?
We want to ensure our volunteers have access to a desk and PC (if required). In regards to planning tasks, it is easier if volunteers come in at a regular time and day each week. However, we are happy to change this is other commitments arise.
Do you pay expenses?
We do not want any of our volunteers to be out of pocket because of volunteering. We will reimburse any travel fares (on proof of receipt). If you volunteer for more than four hours in one day, we will also reimburse you for lunch (up to £5.50).
