Aim
No matter what your type of organisation or service you will at some time find yourselves supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. This training aims to support voluntary and community sector organisations to provide more accessible, inclusive and responsive services that better meet their needs.
Learn in a supportive environment where you can feel safe to ask any question.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session participants will:
Consider different forms of discrimination and the role of attitudes, prejudice and stereotyping
- Gain a greater awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and its relevance to inclusive service delivery
- Gain understanding of how to provide more inclusive and accessible services for lesbian, gay and bisexual people
- Gain a greater knowledge of issues affecting the lives of trans people and how to support them including language, terminology and legislation
- Be able to discuss these topics and ask questions in a supportive environment of peer learning, led by facilitators with an expert knowledge
- Find out where further support and information is available after the training
