About this event
We are looking for people affected by cancer (patients, family members or carers) who would like to share their views on well being, mental health and/or psychosocial support in North East London. If you live in any of the following boroughs we would love to hear from you!
City & Hackney, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Tower Hamlets, Havering, Newham & Waltham Forest.
What do we mean by support? This is any ‘support given to help meet the mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families… including counselling, education, group support, and spiritual support’ (National Cancer Institute).
We would like to invite you to share your experiences in a group setting, particularly to talk around the following topics:
o Were you able to get support for your well being/mental health/psychosocial needs?
o Did you need support but didn’t know where to go?
o Did you access specialist psycho-oncology services?
o Did you access IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies)?
Lunch will be provided at the venue. Please contact us if you have any mobility or dietary requirements.
