Redbridge Council is looking for interested people who live or work in Redbridge to become a Co-opted Member of a Scrutiny Body.
The following positions need filling:
- Non-statutory Voluntary Co-opted Member on the Health Scrutiny Committee (x1)
- Non-statutory Voluntary Co-opted Member on the External Scrutiny Panel (x2).
As a Co-opted Member you will scrutinise the effectiveness of local services and make recommendations for improvements alongside elected Members. The role entails:
- Critically evaluating reports
- Attending approximately six evening meeting a year and contributing to discussions
- Using relevant local knowledge or expertise.
These positions are voluntary. Appointments will be for a maximum period of four years.
Depending on the volume of interest, applicants may be required to be shortlisted and interviewed.
Successful candidates will be offered relevant training and development opportunities, alongside Committee/ Panel Members.
