Communication Support Worker (CSW)/ Administrator/ Personal Assistant (PA) - Empowering Deaf Society

37.5 hours per week OR part time
Empowering Deaf Society (EDS) is looking for a full or part time CSW/ PA/ Administrator to support its team with administration tasks and other duties.
The postholder will:
- Communicate with staff members/ deaf clients in British Sign Language (BSL) or English*
- Provide diary management support where required
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Screen calls and face to face enquiries
- Coordinate meetings and take minutes
- Follow up on actions taken from meetings
- Deal appropriately with correspondence
- Maintain emails and mail where required
- Produce reports and presentations
- Assist with events coordination
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Person specification
EDS is looking for:
- A self-motivated person with excellent organisation and planning skills
- A passionate person committed to people and communities
- An excellent communicator with networking skills and a professional telephone manner
- The ability to build excellent working relationships, both internally and externally
- High level of numeracy and literacy skills
- The ability to multi-task, offer support and work well under pressure.

*As an organisation with deaf staff, EDS uses BSL as a first language. However, the organisation also needs hearing staff to help with making telephone calls, as well as support with written English tasks. BSL skills would be advantageous but EDS is happy to take on new staff members without these skills as training can be given.
