About this event
Support improved mental wellbeing in the workplace, at home and the wider community though becoming an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
This two-day course trains you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s local voluntary sector groups, self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
Our Offer: 112 places at £50 each (RRP £300) over 7 courses for staff and volunteers working directly with people (bursaries are available for micro and unfunded groups active in Redbridge).
The courses will be delivered by Ian Beever an experienced Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) Trainer and OPE Peer Leaders in training to become MHFA Practitioners.
